OK, I have my reversing camera installed, gnet unit in, cabling ran etc.

Now though I am trying to figure out where I can tap into the power for the reversing lights so the camera will come on automaticly. Any one got any suggestions or have any experience taking the boot panels off ?

I do, you can pull out the driverside tailigt (US) find the wire color etc that goes into the bulb. take a picture for reference and print it out. then on the same side inside the trunk, pull out that entire panel on the left side when facing the front. there will be one main wire loom that splits off into about 3 sesperate looms. Find the loom that heads to the tailight area it should have about 10 wires approx, and is about level height as the tailights too. That is where you need to locate that reversing wire and tap into it.

The panels pull out by removing the tie downs on the floor and then I forget what comes next but it should just pull out in once piece except for the top panel where the power jack is, that pulls straight out.


not sure where your running the wire from but that main wire loom runs down the driver side (US) edge by the doors, you can pull up the sills and the loom is in there.

Ok i took the light off and it appears that the green cable in the loom is powering the reversing lights, anyone confirm this ?

yup, its thicker than the rest right? at least in the wire loom it is. I have accidently pinched all those wires recently... I had to go back in and reconnect them all because my reverse and reperaters were out. 

I did it last night, its definately the green wire but it morphs into a green and brown wire as the loom travels up the car.
