HD Camcorders - advice please

Anyone know anything about HD camcorders - what is a good one to buy that's not too expensive? I like the idea of it's own Hard drive. I will be using the AppleTV system to play on the TV.

i've got a little Sanyo Xacti which is excellent as it is not much bigger than my hand but still a very good camcorder considering the size. I haven't got a HD version but I know they do have several HD versions in the range.

Was thinking of getting one just a few weeks ago lots of good write up about the Sony SR12 full HD and 120GB HDD as well so good for a long holiday

But then i'm thinking of maybe waiting for bigger solid state drives no moving parts which could be better? RRS TDV6 Gone but still around

I bought the Sony HDR-TG3E before the wife and I went on our hols. It's an amazing bit of kit.
It's small enough to just pop in your pocket and has all the features of the much bigger sony
Hard Disk Cameras but it uses solid state memory cards (now they are so cheap it's not a
problem). It has a great zoom and also has great face recognition software. It has very ergenomic
one hand operation and also takes really good quality stills.
The camera body is built from Titanium - which turned out to be a good thing when I dropped it
whilst filming, so it fell from head height, onto a concrete kerb stone Shocked and then watched as it bounced several times into the gutter Big Cry Picked it up expecting it to be trashed -- Amazing Shocked appart from a small scratch on one corner it was fine and still works perfectly --- Great build quality Sony - I'd recommend it to anyone. There is only one HD camcorder to have:

http://www.red.com/cameras/

You just need $17500 for the base and about the same again for any lens setups............come to Papa. I hope Santa is feeling generous this year, if I do not unwrap this on Xmas day, there will be hell to pay Thumbs Up L322 Big Daddy SUPERCHARGED 5.0 Autobiography - Here & Now!
