Does anybody know if it is possible to get a multi-region chip for the LR harman/kardon rear DVD system for a Range Rover Sport. I have just moved to Oz from the UK and recently bought a RRS. Hence, all of my DVD are Region 2 and the system in the car is Region 4 so none off them will play. Wee one is really miffed coz he can't watch his favourite DVD's and I am not keen to replace all of them with local versions.

Good question, I didn't realise the RSE DVD drives were region locked. I don't remember this being asked before. Let's see if someone can help

If it's anything like the DVD drives that BMW use for Satnav, they're just the same as those you'd find in your PC and they are easily hacked.

Have you tried contacting the Techie guys at Charles Hurst, site sponsors. You cannot be the only person who cannot watch DVD's bought on the other side of the world to where you bought your in-car entertainment 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

...or the other way, copy the DVD, then burn a region free copy (any required s/w for both steps can be found on the web). Damage or theft in the car also then means you haven't lost the originals.... Cheers

Anyway, DVD players on cars shouldn't be region locked... With a car, you're supposed to travel around... Just like portable game consoles, there are no region locks whatsoever... |

did anyone find a solution? I have thesame problem, because I have a US region and use it in europe. I found a car audio garage where they said they can change the region and it will cost approximately €180. But it is at the other end of the city so I never have time to go there.
