I don't believe anyone ever has, as you can't even retrofit factory satnav without engineering codes from LR which they will not provide as it constitutes a specification change I can't see a TDV8 transplant being either possible or supported by LR at all.

The cost of landing a new tdv8 in trinidad is over 100,000 GBP with taxes. I just thought it might be easier to get the engine and swap. there seems to be a lot of commonality between the two engine's systems. |

Yes largely the TDV8 is 2 extra cylinders of the same size added to the TDV6 but there are also myriad differences such as EGR valve size etc etc. The one key difference is that it would require a TDV8 engine ECU which would have to be coded to work with the other ECUs on the vehicle and that is what LR will not provide so she wouldn't run. Loony price but assume the TDV6 was equally loony or does the TDV8 engine cross some taxation threshold??? It would be more cost effective to have a remap of the TDV6, this can be done remotely via some suppliers offerings....do a search on here and the disco3.co.uk forum for suppliers, it may get you some more oomph at a much better cost Cheers Simon 2007 2.7HSE 20" Wheels 2005 TDV6 D3 S Auto - Zambezi Silver - JE Tune - RRS 19" - Sidesteps - Roof Rails Body Side Strips - Xenons - Bright Pack - Cold Pack - Premium Stereo Alpine Roof - Towpack - Alpine Touchscreen Satnav - Veba Rear DVD changer Alpine Roof Monitor - Webasto FBH Timer - Brembo Frt & S/C Rr Brakes |
