VIDEO: Land Rover Freelander 2 TD4_e Stop/Start up close!

To demonstrate the new Freelander 2 TD4_e Stop Start system Land Rover has built a special 4x4 course in the Battersea Power station, London. According to Land Rover, the new Freelander 2 TD4_e, which goes on sale in May in the UK, can reduce CO2 emissions by 8 percent and delivers up to 20 percent better fuel economy in the city. The video below demonstrates how the new TD4_e works.

the fact that you have to take the car out of gear for it to turn off is against my driving style

When i did my test, you had to keep your car in gear at all times as that means your under control Confused

I was always taught that you should go into neutral when stopped. "Into neutral, handbrake on, feet off all the pedals!" I remember that chant even now Embarassed

I don’t like those systems at all, but at least you can turn the darn thing off & drive as normal.

While still benefiting from lower road tax rates, due to the lower CO2 emissions.

(Our road tax is calculated on emissions for all cars register after July 1st ’0Cool

I don't disbelieve that the benefits of Stop/Start outweigh "leaving it running" at lights and such like, however, I was always led to believe that restarting the engine creates more pollution than just letting it idle???? Especially a vehicle that uses tractor juice???

Am I totally barking or yet again am I being the great knowledgable one Question L322 Big Daddy SUPERCHARGED 5.0 Autobiography - Here & Now!
