2006 Range Rover Sport Supercharged Java Black

I've had a BB for a few years now and I know loads of people with iPhones.

After much thought and consideration I've just got the BB BOLD and it's brilliant - WIFI, 3G, all the emails that I want and syncronises with itunes. It bluetooth's to my RRS too.

iPhone will do most of this stuff, but it's terrible to type properly on. With the BB design, after a bit of practice you'll soon be able to type on a BB as quickly as you can type on a regular keyboard. RRS SC Java Ebony

My phone's up for renewal next month.... I am torn between the iPhone and the N96. I've always had Nokias and personally think that the iPhone should be more functional than it is.

What to do.... Confused

I had a lot of doubt over the iphone when i bought mine.

I have to say the more I use it the more fascinating I find it. 3g and wifi means connectivity is rarely a problem. Web browsing is fantastic. The youtube feature os just great for watching videos. Calls, emails, texts are all simple and once you get used to the intelligent typing feature (like Nokia predictive text) its a breeze to text and type emails. Oh and its an ipod as well.

But by far the best thing about the iphone is its application capability. I have installed loads of apps from games to GPS tracker/recording devices and snow report software. most of which installed free. It takes less than a minute to install most apps and they really do take the iphone from being a smartphone into some sort of phone/pc/gps/psp hybrid which i find more and more invaluable the more I use it.

For the real offroaders amogstus the best feature I have found so far is the GPS tracker which records any route you drive and can then upload this to an online map of your choosing (google maps is already installed on the phone as default).

I had a Blackberry Pearl before this and before that i have always been a Nokia user. Its doubtful I will go back until something comparable to the iphone is released. In my opinion its by far one of the most impressive piece of technology to have been released for a long time. WINNER - 2009 Best Newcomer Award

Thanks Wozz...

Do the 3g iPhones now support MMS text messaging as well? I often have to text pics to people... which is another thing I don't have much confidence in, the iPhone camera. The N96 camera is nothing short of fantastic given it's built into a phone.

As standard it doesn't but I understand there is an addon you can now download which enables this feature. You can email pics as often as you like though.

In essence whatever you need to do with the iphone there is an addon/app that lets you do it. Its just so adaptable and flexible you can turn it to anything you like.

I was just trying to work out my monthly fuel costs with the new car and I downloaded an app to convert units (e.g. liters to gallons) while I was stood in a builders yard waiting for them to bring out some bags of tile adhesive from the stock room.

It is my opinion of course but I really do think its just a fantastuc piece of kit for its usability. WINNER - 2009 Best Newcomer Award

... iPhone camera is not great I admit but the pics it takes are not complete crap either. I think it is missing some sort of auto stabilising function for its camera as you have to hold very still to take a decent pic - if you do the results are fine. WINNER - 2009 Best Newcomer Award
