Turkey 2008 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Alaska White
Fairly late to the game.

Hello everyone,

I've been reading topics on this forum since monday and I must say that I'm a little concerned; not because of the greatness in detailed topics and the dedication of each fellow member, but because of giving second thoughts to my choice of entering the Land Rover world. I have purchased a 2008 TDV6 Range Sport HSE that has 10.000 km on the clock and it's coming on monday the 10th.

No doubt that it's "King of the Hill" appeal combined with gorgeous design and long distance cruising ability have won me over, but with all the TECHNICAL GREMLINS I'm not sure I may hold myself together if I witness a sudden drop of power during an overtake, or stepping into the garage in the morning to find that the car's suspension fluid is all over the place..... We will see how my patience manages on a scale of 1 to 10 from now on.

Land Rovers here in Turkey are imported and distributed by BMW dealers and from my experience as a previous BMW owner, servicing is great in all of their facilities.

Having been a long time Discovery3 fan, I surprised myself by choosing a used Range Sport over a brand new Disco. (Prices and taxes are sky-high in Turkey with both cars costing on the north of 100.000 Euros.) This Alaska White Sport was just waiting there for me to pick him up and even the salesman's persuasion on choosing a brand new X5 with sport pack (along with subtle hints that BMW would be a more trouble-free purcase) wasn't enough to turn my head away from the RR Sport.

Let's see if this love affair continues without hassles.

I may ask for your feedback on bluetooth and ipod connectivity later as it appears that the car has none. But I find great comfort in knowing you all and in the idea that whatever happens, I will always have an answer for good in this forum.

Let the games begin Smile

Best regards,

Emrah 2008 ALASKA WHITE/IVORY

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 SE Arctic Frost

Welome to the forum Emrah. Thumbs Up

Don't worry, you have made the right choice. The RRS is a lot better than people give it credit for. Every car forum is full of horror stories but not many people actually write anything about how happy they are with the reliability of their motors. Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. Aspen Leather, Cherry Wood, Privacy Glass, PTI, Tow Pack, Mudflaps, Tasmods, a new Fuelflap, a RRSport.co.uk umbrella in the boot & a RRSport.co.uk sticker on the rear glass.

It has been said on the forum many times that the RRS just has that magic about it.

Every time I get into drive mine, even after over 2 1/2yrs I still feel great and love it as much as the day we got it Bow down Thumbs Up Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad
