Warranty renewal?

Out of interest, whats the deal with warranty renewal on land rovers. With my porsche, they normally contact you a month before it expires, but i have heard nothing from LR?

Also - what have people tended to do? I have been offered the option of taking a 'Land Rover Approved' warranty as opposed to the Land Rover retail option as the dealer can sell this cheaper (part of compensation for earlier issues) but is this warranty just as comprehensive? i.e. is it cheaper because they are doing me a favour, or because it offers less cover?

LR never contacted me about extending warranty - I contacted a dealer myself, what they did contact me with was details of extending my LR Assist. I was quoted £1k for 1 year extension of the warranty which I decided was too much. Currently running RRS with no warranty in place. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

If you get the extended warranty leaflet from a dealer read the fine print of what is NOT included, it will chill your bones.

I saw it as way too much money, you can get after market warranties on the net that cover more for less than half the cost.

I too am currently running a FFRR with no warranty, saved the £1100 for any problems I get.... Whistle L319 D4 HSE

same here, now running it with no warranty. Its just expired but the dealer didnt tell me.

They also said, because it expired more than 10 days have passed, so it will need an inspection prior to the extended warranty at a cost of £250. The extended warranty they wanted £1,055

Strangely, Gatwick LR rang me in Sep to tell me my warranty was about to expire. Little did they realise I hadn't owned the car for nigh on two years at that point Rolling Eyes

Not a big fan of any after market warranty, whether it be automotive or for a washing machine, they are all totaly over priced and have more exclusions than you can shake a Censored stick at Evil or Very Mad .....just my thoughts Speed Limits! not where I live!
