Having decided not to sell the RRS, it thanks me by bloking the hand brake on the rear left wheel! this is the third time it has happened and considering the last time they changed the cable, discs, hub and jaws the only thing left to change now is the servo motor!!!

Sacha - No idea what this could be but yes make sure your dealer aware you are worried about the safety aspect and get that in writing. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

I had stopped using it as this problem had happened a few times, but our dog..... yes our dog managed to switch it on the day before while I was stopped! Oh well! thanks for the notices, I will discuss it further with the dealer.... and not let the dog drive any more! A bunch of tech and special service bulletins have come out over time here in North America regarding EPB, including revised workshop / special service procedures for its correct installation directed at LR's own mechanics, so it must indeed be a reoccurring problem area. These won't probably help you much, but in order of "appearance" (these are LRNA bulletins but they should more or less match those issued in Europe):

Speaking of handbrake, I don't really use it that much... Just sometimes, if I park on a very steep road. As said, putting the selector on P is okay right? |

I remember an LRE instructor once advising me that it wasn't worth ever engaging the EPB. Not sure if it's relieves any "strain" on the gearbox at all when engaged. |
