How long do you plan to keep your Sport?

I'm interested to see who the long termers are going to be amongst us and how many people are planning to chop their car in and at what stage of ownership.

I hope to keep mine for 3 years, and perhaps a change to the DV8 should it arrive in time and be good enough and if personal circumstances dictate I am still interested.

If you are likely to swap soon, what is the reason? L319 D4 HSE

Recently I have changed my vehicle every 12mths, but I have no idea how long I will keep this one. Only thoughts at the minute are towards poss the arrival of the V8d - but so much can happen between now and ........ when?

A lot depend s on what LR develops down the line.??
I bought a CSK back in 91 and still have it !! Only
put 60 k miles on it in 15 years !
I will probably keep the sport at least 5 years at
which time the engine will just about be bedded in !!!
Only do about 5k miles per year.

Well I have a leasing agreement for 4 years but that doesn't mean anything. Normally I change my cars every 30 months but I am immensely happy with my RRS so I would like to keep it forever and probably buy an Aston Martin in the next 5 years. RRS TDV6 HSE BUCKINGHAM BLUE BLACK LEATHER INTERIOR RHODIUM TASMOD SILLS PARROT 3000 EVOLUTION WHITE SIDE REPEATERS RRPORT.CO.UK BROLLY & STICKER

I will keep mine for at least 3 years or more depending on what's on offer and if I have any money! Smile 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

I've never kept a car much more than 18 months, but normally change every year. However, I've never had a new car and something as expensive as the RRS. I'm planning to keep it for 3 years as this is the term of the finance. However, the TDV8 may tempt me change earlier or maybe there might be a new shape (Ford) RR in a few years time! Matt

RRS ownership for 1 yr, then D3 for 2 yrs. Then cut back to old bangers and working my way back up through two Peugeots in 6 months. Now got Saab 9-5 2.3t and enjoying the performance!

There could also be some updates to the Sport that will tempt us to change, all the know issues we have found, like lack of a decent clock, rear interior lights, decent PTI, clear lenses etc etc etc L319 D4 HSE

Probably have mine for a couple of years I would imagine. I have a habit of taking out new cars on 3 yr deals, but haven't completed one yet.... this will no doubt be the same.

I normally don't keep a car for more than 2 - 3 years. But I retire in 2010, still a young chap, so if all goes well I may be a long termer.
But none of my friends beleive me, so I may end up with a part time job and who knows! TDV6 - gone
TDV8 - gone

I was but a nipper when the PB5 was around, but they were well ahead of their time. Quick too! I seem to remember they were the choice of Sussex police force back then... Cool

changing cars

kept last car for 12 months, always been a mercedes fan, something about the make attracts me, but the new ml could a bit on the large side.
will wait and see the new Audi 4X4. No complaints at all about the RRS.
Will decide around May/June ( Might even buy a new RRS ) ?? ,

Well i don't really have a time period as such, i play the finance and residual game so go on the market really.
Sold my 330d the weekend the new 3 series saloon brochures were available, and got a nice pex price of £21k for it.
Bought my old convertible in winter, and sold it late summer for the RRS and didn't loose much money relatively, went with seasonal trend, plus the new E90 coupe and convertible are on the horizon hence the E46 has started nose diving of late.

Didn't really plan to sell the RRs early, just kind of always looking at different cars, and sometimes get tempted by deals that dealers throw around. Have new E90 M3 on order, and my order is imminent for the new RS4 for June delivery, so guess the latest i'll have the RRs is June, but may still opt for the S4 if they play ball and offer me a too good a deal to turn down..

No reflection on the RRS though, its superb, just that i want out while it is still the new thing and hence can still get a good pex price for it.
