RRS RearView Cam Installed, where to Install camera? Done!

I just got the new Gnet module for the rear camera and bought both the round camera and the rectanlgle one,
The rectangle one would fit beautifully in one of the 2 lights for the License plate. Problem is that the wiring down to that part seems impossible to run thru.
Has anyone installed Rear Cams in an RRS, could you please post your experience and types of cameras.
I tried installing one in the roof spoiler, only to have glare and reduced visibility over a normal rearcam.
Thanks for the Input guys.

Camera Installed! Painly but done

I managed to install the Gnet unit, pretty setup. Will interrupt the Nav screen nicefully. 3 av inputs plus rear cam, plus rgb!
Setup was great at start, bought the rectangular camera and it wouldnt fit below one of the license plate lights only because sending the wiring back to the insideof thecra would mean glueing or sticking the cable to the glass or making clips since there is no tubing to send it thru.
I ended up buying the porsche minicam from NAVTV and putting it a top of the license plate.
Will post pics tomorrow,
Thanks!
JJB

i was hoping the camera would fit to the headlining at the back so the camera looks through the wpied area of the back window and keeps clean.

The cable would be easier to run also.

How much is the gnet unit these days?

Switzerland 2009 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Java Black

Hi,

I'm getting the RRS TDV8 in a few weeks, and want to have the dealer fit the GNET unit before I get it. Only question is, which camera to get; the flush mount circular one, or the surface mount square one, any ideas? Also, if I get the square one, can I install it upside-down?

Thanks in advance,

I have talked to the GNET dealer and they absolutely cannot answer me if it will work if I install the camera upside down? Any feedback from anyone?

You could install it upside down? Not sure I follow you though, why would you want an upside down picture on the screen?????

That is the basis for my question!!!

On the back of the RRS it fits better if you install the flat mounted camera upside down, up under the handle, and not on the bumper etc. Hence I am asking if it is possible to adjust the picture to be rightly displayed, i.e. flip the input around. And, no one can answer me that.

I've got the Gnet unit but not the camera, but I think the simple answer is no I'm afraid, I can't think of any way you could make it work like that sorry.

It maybe worth a post on Disco3 ,

I think 'Wiggs' on Disco3, is buy all acounts quite handy with electronics, there might be a extra unit that could flip the upside down picture the right way up before it gets to the gnet Idea

IF you can't post pics could you tell me exactly where you installed your cam, I'm struggling to find a good place. I might just fit a small cam under the back of the car.

The video modules that I have are the newer version of the GNET and cheaper. Please PM me for details. Mine come direct from the manufacturer. GNET gets them from the same place, they have old inventory to get rid of and I don't.
