Strange carpet mats...

I got a set of black mats, with the Land Rover logo and all, they fit well... but the are strange holes in them, like for fixing them to the floor of something. But there are no screws or anything... And those holes looks rather poorly cutted, like they were handmade...

Is it normal?

There is a special hook that should be fitted in the front footwells to stop the mats sliding, that's what the hole engages on.
This is the one that is fitted to my TDv8, and also the rubber mat with the hole

Weird because

1. I got no hook whatsoever

2. The holes in my mats are roughly there

You have the older type of mats. With the mats they usually provide the hooks that you have to install making a hole in the carpet. Usually they do not get installed because of the hole in the carpet and they break easily and you don't need them, the mats do not move around.
I case you want to install them I have a set, you can have them for free(well, a beer would be appreciated Wink ), let me know '08 RRS TDV8

United Kingdom

Never used the plastic clips with our carpet mats.

I just let them slide forward and jam under the brake pedal for that 'Adrenalin really is brown' moment at high speed! Runner up - 2009 Best Avatar Award Sad

Carpets are now clean - the car was serviced last week and the interior valeted at the same time! Interior cleaning once a year is enough for my car, it hardly ever gets used................................ seriously I don't normally have a dirty interior, I think that picture was taken in Feb/March when the weather was not good enough to be taking the vacuum cleaner outside - I now have a battery powered vacuum for car cleaning! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
