Cars dealers won't take as part-exchanges

I've just been reading an item about what cars dealers don't want on their forecourts as they just don't shift.........

All the usual suspects with big petrol engines/high emissions/poor economy. If you own any of the following your stuck with them, dealers won't take them at any price:

Any petrol Range Rover/RRSport/ Discovery or Freelander - but D3 TD's and RRS TD's are still moving (just!) but Freelander1 isn't selling at all (poor reputation and people are going for Freely2 instead)
Mercedes SL,R.ML and GL Classes regardless of the motor in it - SL bubble has burst and there are too many on the market, R class is totally dead they are just rotting on dealers forecourts.
VW Toureg with any Petrol engine or any of the larger capacity diesels - but the smaller capacity TDis are still moving
VW Phaetons - any engine
Hyundai Coupe 2.0ltr - has very high emissions
Any RS or S version of a Audi or Q7 with any engine (any dealer other than an Audi dealer will laugh you off the forecourt if you have a Q7 apparrently!)
Any recent Bentley - too many around.
BMW 7 series (any motor)
BMW 3 Series with engines more than 2.0ltrs are not selling (too many on the market) especially coupes
BMW 6 Series Convertibles
BMW X5 regardless of engine (market is flooded with them)
BMW Z4
Porsche Boxter - either version
Any Jeep
Nissan Murano (reputedly loose £2000 a WEEK!)
Nissan 350ZX
Suzuki Vitara V6
Any Maybach
Petrol engined Merc S Class

BUT if you stroll in with any family car with a diesel or petrol engine between 1.4 and 1.8ltrs it will be snapped up with glee as those are what are selling by the transporter load! Small MPV's like Renault Scenic C-Max etc are walking off forecourts at good prices and any colour/spec will do! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

Sounds to be very accurate from our findings also..
Lexus LS430 was going in for a newer LS460 SEL and the dealer basically said, keep your car, and we'll keep ours, thanks but no thanks.. lexus to lexus! couldn't believe that.. he said we've got loads of the old sheds and they just don't sell, so we don't need any more ornaments to put outside, and they have been going round and round at auctions.. One of our clients, bought an R Reg LS430 and wacked an LPG tank in the boot, and it cost him £3800!! bargain barge and its very comfortable too and being a lexus, nothing has broken on it since they've had it..

Sad times Evil or Very Mad

It seems the constant banging of the "credit crunch", "recession" and "climate change" drum is doing its trick then.......amazing how humans resemble sheep sometimes. A sad day for the individuals(drivers), manufacturers and workers...............

I too have reached the conclusion that we should all downsize and get something smaller and more eco-friendly, thats why I have just added the SL to the stable.........at the end of the day, ALL of my metal monsters are cheaper, cleaner and more convenient than any public mode of transport........the 2 buses that do pass within the end of my driveway never have more than 2 people on them.......hardly green is it?!

See, i'm saving the environment Thumbs Up Smile L322 Big Daddy SUPERCHARGED 5.0 Autobiography - Here & Now!

I've just done my green/eco bit for the day by using the Stirling park and ride bus service from the outskirts of the city to the centre. Drove to P&R depot in the RRS, parked for £1 for all day parking, which includes free bus into town (takes 10 minutes!). It's saved me about £1 of fuel in the stop start driving through the city centre, £2.50 for parking in the town centre NCP for 2.5 hours and another £1 in fuel to drive out of town................ and I had a chauffeur driven limo (a brand new spotlessly clean Optare 40 seater bus) all to myself both ways! And while I was in town I paid an enterprising young lad £4 to hot wash and wax the Sport so I've also saved a quid over using the nearby carwash that I normally use who charge £5 just for the hot wash! Yes a very green day for my bank account I think! The P&R also means that I can use the Def90 to go shopping if I like as there are no low ceilings or barriers to get under to get into the secure P&R car park! Mr. Green Cool Cool

Heard on R4 PM programme tonight that the Bank Of England has already propped up UK Banks to the tune £200billion.......................... so we are in it worse per head than anybody in the USA, then there's the other £49billion they've lent to the banks in credits. Looks like the Brown Govt is going to do to us all what Callaghan did in 1979 - begging bowl to the IMF again and huge national debt for the next 20 years. All we need now is the £20 limit on cash taken out of the country (a "gift" from Harold Wilson) and a winter of strikes to take us back 40 years. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
