the new 'Pyramid Scam' gets BBC backing

As shown on the BBC and many other news programs yesterday'

http://www.winthecheltenhamhouse.com/

they have sold 2500 tickets in 24 hours - thats £62,500 in one day. In their T&C's (which are easily found), they have reserved the right to delay the draw (currently set at New Years Eve) for 3 months if not enough tickets have been sold, remove the house as the prize draw if not enough tickets have been sold and eventually just turn it into a money prize if required. Any what do they get out of it - 35% administration fee.

What a complete SCAM and endorsed by the BBC Evil or Very Mad

I suppose you have to hand it to them really - they have made £22k profit in 24 hours - however the whole concept smells of Scam to me.

I believe the charity part is something to do with actually being allowed to do it as a lottery rather than a competition

It doesnt count as a lottery because they ask a question for you to enter. So its therefore a competition so they dont need permission to do it. (thats how i was told these things work)

Usually in these situations charities only get 10% of the profits, not every ticket sale.

Either way its a money maker if you get enough publicity to make a profit.
