Always check the destination in your satnav......

Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed Embarassed This morning I started out from Killington Lake services after an overnight stop on the way south and let the satnav guide me ......................... down the M6, round the M42, down the M40 to Gaydon for lunch, resume the trip south and then I didn't recognise the scenery, and then I noticed signs saying London 31 miles and M25 blocked between J14 and J17 and thought that's odd I haven't seen any signs for Oxford/Newbury/Southampton........................... oh B*ll**ks it dawned on me the last address I had put in the satnav was not in the New Forest, it was W3 OSL and I was on my way to CHPR and not the New Forest!!!!! SH*T and then I had to negotiate the snarled up M25.............................. which wasn't too bad as I managed to change the route on the fly by going into the previous destinations and selecting where I REALLY wanted to end up tonight.....
did a quick reroute, then confused SWMBO in the dashboard by coming off the M25 and heading west on the M4 and cutting cross country at Basingstoke onto the M3/M27. Managed to add at least 60 miles to my trip, but I will say one thing for going almost to the end of the M40 - I finally got the trip computer to give me an MPG over 34!
Not for long though as the slow moving traffic on the M25 and then a Honda Civic on fire on the hardshoulder of the M4 caused lots of stop start driving, then from J1 on the M27 right through Lyndhurst it was stop start in the New Forest........................my god how can you guys drive down in these parts, it's awful either stopped or being pushed along at 90....................................
Anyway it was a nice diversion and got me to the B&B just in time for afternoon tea and scones! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

It was a good run south S, plenty of traffic but not too many loonies and not too many caravans. The landlord here has told me though that I need to allow extra time tomorrow morning or take his "secret" backroads route to the M27 to let up to the M27 otherwise I will get stuck in the Saturday morning caravan site clear out at 0930......

LR- please can you program an extra check function into the S/N - apage that asks "Do you really want to resume the last route you put in which was to XXXX XXXX?" 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Have been told that as I have a Land Rover I can drive it over the New Forest heaths thus avoiding any chances of meeting up with a single caravan unless TB is down here as well Mr. Green Mr. Green
James don't worry the car knows it's going back to where it came from for the first time since it drove out of the garage last October and it's programmed with Dukes Road but if I'm in any doubt I'll just go into the POI list and find CHPR there.................... clocked up the 9000th mile yesterday 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

Coming back from Padstow yesterday, Audi SatNav decided to take us over the Severn bridge into S Wales Shocked

Got f Censored g stiffed for £5.30 for the pleasure of needlessly crossing the bridge.

In the end, ditched SatNav, went M50, M5, M6 home and still beat the ETA the SatNav gave.
