Hi all,

I recently bought a RRS 55 plate from Hillendale in Nelson and from day one it has been making a strange noise, I took it back to the dealer 3 times and only today have they said that it is the transfer box they have said that this noise is on all the RRS and is not a fault with the vehicle, they have offered to change the box as a goodwill gesture but only from a vehicle of the same age(not a new one) and the manager stated that it will not solve the problem. Maybe it has something to do with the box being £1800.
Reading the previous threads I can see people have had the same problem!!
I need some help with this

If it is the problem I had it is because something in the gear selector stays open for longer to give the vehicle full flexibility for off roading between gear changes.

If you put it into low ratio the noise should stop. Nothing can be done about it and even the new ones make this noise. Some are more noisy than others. I have heard it on 5 at my dealership including ones that have not had the PDI completed.
