Sat Nav at Night

What does everyone do with their sat nav screen while driving at night..??

If i leave it on its way too bright, if i dim the screen it also dims all other lights on the dash!

I know i can turn it off but i still want to be able to use its functions....

Just wondered if anywhere in the settings maybe a night mode? or some tips

I thought it had a light sensor to determine how bright to make the display... or am I dreaming that? Confused

you can change the brightness in display settings, plus as there are 2 set types you can have the brightness set differently on each, so use one for day and one for night use. this saves you having to dim the dials.

My Nav is permanently set to the off road navigation setting with compass showing, mainly because I find it such a useless piece of kit that at least the compass and altitude readings keep me ammused!!!!

Switch off at night.

Why do you find it so useless? Confused It has it's foibles (as do all factory fitted satnavs in my experience), but I wouldn't have said it's useless... Very Happy

Well I guess I base my experience say on systems such as the Audi has, nav, phone, etc all seamlessley integrated. Phone book appears before you on the dis or on the nav screen, not on some poxy little green screen you notice if you were looking towards the floor...... Nav directions dont appear in front of me on the dis, I just find the screen that does nowt but show a map a bit of a waste of space. Like I say I guess though I am used to looking at integrated systems, not somethign thats been cobbled together as spare parts?

As for nav itself if I am honest it spends most of its life waiting to be accepted because I forget to press the button Surprised
