The place they ended the race, Tower 42 in The City of London is where I work.

Talk about dramatic licence, all that faffing with the lifts....anyone who works there knows that to get to Vertigo on level 42 there is a dedicated lift from the podium level, but for all other floors you need to use the main lifts and swap somewhere mid-way up.

Another example of how TG makes Clarkson look better than everyone else!

Plus, notice they didn't show the security aspects, the cars all have to be inspected by one of those mirrors on a stick etc, and all baggage going into the building has to go through an X ray machine like in the airports. L319 D4 HSE

I reckon it will be about as successful and as good an investment as the Jaguar XJ220.

I met a guy at a Jaguar day in the summer who bought an XJ220 from new, he still had it, I saw it, and it cost him over £400,000.

It's now worth nowhere near that......and it's only done 6000 miles. L319 D4 HSE

Didn't they say that VW were making them at a loss anyway just as an engineering exercise? £5m manufacturing cost, retail price £840k. I bet they've all been sold though, there are no shortage of people in the world with nearly £1m in loose change to spend on a car like that.

I think it's amazing they've managed to get it into production. For years now, we've been hearing about the fact that each time they'd test the drivetrain it would just shred under the immense power that the W16 generates. Wasn't so sure about it's looks though - it reminded me a bit of a VX220. Sounded very thunderous though... esp in the tunnels!

Hi Guys

I worked on the Bugatti Veyron whilst at Bentley. I took the W16 engine and worked on the development of "trying" Shocked to make it fit in the 2005 Arnage engine bay.
What a fantastic engine, if you ever get a chance to listen to it put hankerchief on your chin! Supercharged

It is a truly nice car when it's very own Philharmonic Orchestra under the lid.
Sadly, I didn't drive because of restrictions on my test car license - on valid to 190mph (yeah only!!! Wink ).
But I did get to drive the Arnage test mule to which the W16 was forced into. Supercharged
