Solid state drives are like harddrives but with no moving parts just like the flash drives you use in your digital camera.... except the one for the Macbook AIR is 64Gb.... notice Mr Jobs forgot to quote the price $$$$$ Brit across the Pond Wink

hmmmmm yes they are expensive with the solid state drives.

Have just spent the week in San Francisco and was at the launch and had the chance for a touch, feel and play (of the Macbook Air that is Very Happy )

Very impressive to hold and amazing to see how slim it really is, and how bright and high quality the screen is.

Not really the machine for me - you can't change batteries, so if you are traveling and run out of juice....too bad, and I need the higher speed ports like firewire. Hopefully a sign of things to come for the rest of the notebook range though. Just a white TDV8 with a few extras

Not a replacement just an addition to the line.... they did away with the small 12inch Powerbook (typing on that right now) and never replaced it until the Air. Brit across the Pond Wink
