Option 2 is to take the wheels off and gut the wire to the sensors. Option 1 is however your best bet!

Just use the electronic parking brake to stop! Just kidding. The sensors are probably designed to be annoying on "purpose" - when activated it means your pads are worn down to almost nothing - less than 5% left I think - and you need new ones, pronto. But I also had to put up with that damn chime every time I touched the brakes not long ago in L.A. stop-and-go traffic, so I know what you mean. I wish they had designed the sensors to activate some sort of steady "Brakes Fault" red light in the instrument cluster - which would extinguish only after the sensors were replaced with new ones, since once triggered they are no good anyway - instead of the "Ding! Fault - Oh, Never mind - Ding! Fault - Oops, My mistake - Ding! Fault" routine... |

From memory ( i have just done mine) once on the edge of wearing and when the sensor is worn (shorts) the intermittent ding stops as the warning is permanent...

Yeah, much safer and easier on your ears and mental state if you just go and get them done
