Am letting my TDV6 go - warranty expires. next month and do not want to worry about paying for the constant repairs. Have seem some stuff here from time to time about residuals, anyone able to give me an idea in percentage terms, what I should be expecting to after 3 years (only 65,000km on the clock). Should it be 50% +/- 5% ? I have an offer of a trade up to a TDV8 HSE and the stealer is offering me to take in the TDV6 for half what I paid for it. RRS TDV6 (gone)

At a guess I would say your RRS is worth 55% of the original purchase price. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

I bought it in Holland tax free (out of Germany) in Summer of 2005 and imported it tax free into Serbia (you're right Schmoogle, there's been no Yugoslavia officially for a very long time now) The stealer in Holland is offering me 50% as a trade against a full-spec'd (for demo) V8 HSE which I would also buy tax free. Looking at Steve's comment I should take the money and run. RRS TDV6 (gone)

Probably, but I have no clue if the Dutch market is taking the same hammering as the UK and therefore whether 50% of the original value is a good offer. I expect it's not too far wide of the mark.

- I don't really mean, Lambo Reventon because there are only 20 of them...

Good question mate, and right now... there isn't much around which has a premium, except the real premium stuff i.e. reventon, ferrari california's etc... someone on here mentioned they got a good premium for a maserati recently, but these are dropping chunks even, so not sure about that. R8's easily available, our preferred audi garage has three in stock ready to roll in the showroom and outside! so hardly a premium £30k'd car...

M3 would have been a good bet three years ago, but i for one can say there is NO premium in that.. there are LOADS around and easy to chip the dealers away on their prices on used and even new its been rumoured.

RR Sport is good news compared to other 4x4's which lose a chunk when new, i.e. Q7's/GL's/ML's/Bmw X5's... The X5 3.0sd is being brought in, and a lot of people have been waiting for these so they are holding slightly, but Bmw have oversupplied the market with models, and there simply aren't the same level of buyers on the market right now, so these will slip as with the other models.

It really is a buyers market right now... from the quotes we've done on X6's recently, these are't being brought in that high of a number by Bmw, so they are looking strong right now, but wouldn't say a premium car, just stronger then the rest on the market right now..

To be honest, if there was a premium car around the £50k bracket out there right now, i would be in one myself, but i've chosen personally to buy an expensive car which has lost a chunk and make do with normal depreciation for a while. The Nissan GTR is going to be good news, and will be for some time however, and i do wish i could have got on the list a while back, but im still hoping i can get a loose car when they are launched, should be a lot of speculators on the list, and the car is looking like it will be awesome.

Another car we do a lot of are TT's and Mini's which are big favourites, i would buy a TTS in top spec guise (sligtly used) and sit on it for a year or so, or a Mini cooper S around £12-14k makes a lot of sense.. did a cooper convertible recently 06 plate for £11k, and that has a strong residual.

We're working on an online quote system, and are working with a company, to trial the system, as one of the first in the country, with an online quote/proposal system, which will allow clients to look at different used cars themselves, the company have taken a long time perfecting the system with the banks, but they are nearly there and we have been waiting on the sidelines eagerly for a while waiting for the system to be available for rollout.. there are similar systems out there, but not with this systems level of accuracy etc. So watch this space.... 6-8 weeks rollout we were told this morning..
