DPF Removal

First of all a big thumbs up to everyone contributing to this community,it really is a tremendous resource for anything having to to with the RRS Thumbs Up

Despite having covered a considerable amount of truly enjoyable km's with my TDV8 there's one thing which has been bugging me from the start.
Since my car is a MY 2008 it came equipped with a diesel particle filter as standard.

Although the DPF has muted the V8 rumble a fair bit,this isn't my biggest concern ;
Several times during 'spirited driving' the display showed a DPF FULL message and subsequently the car went into limp mode i.e losing most of its power and forcing me to the emergency lane to restart the car.

Since I had the ECU remapped the problem has occurred more frequently.
So my question is if it would be at all possible to have the DPF removed and thereby tricking the sensors that are connected to the DPF?

Any input would be greatly appreciated. 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Java/Ebony(Gone)

Ed...you have discovered one of the the problems with a remap Sad

I had a SAAB that did exactly the same, it went to the dealer 3 times to have the DPF cleaned but in the end I took the remap off the car as the dealer wanted SAAB to 'inspect' the car if it happened a 4th time Sad

They guy that did my remap offered a lower power remap for euro 4 cars....shame he forgot to mention that before he took my money Shocked

Well its only doing its job. More fuel - more power - but more soot to get rid of in the exhaust so it gets full quicker than the software programme intends it to.
I am running an 08.5 model with it and it has not been any trouble yet, but the car has only done 1600 miles so I will let you know if it affects it in any way.

How many miles have you done Ed? As a matter of interest. You don't stop playing because you get old, You get old because you stop playing.

Ed,

The guy was simply a reseller of a well known remap brand that many users of this forum have been happy with but unfortunately I think I was the 'guinea pig' for a Euro 4 DPF car Sad

Anyway I sold the car as I could never get used to driving it with standard power ever again Smile
