What's the general opinion on the following:
HSE or S/C
Alaska or Chawton White
Alpaca or Ivory
Rear Diff Lock, worth having?

Cheers

Thanks for input Will.
Actually engine choice is 4.4 V8 HSE or 4.2 V8 S/C.
I love the ivory but concerned that it is so light it might be a bit impractical.
Had it on my Jaguar XK conv., it looked great but marked up so easily.

Wales 2006 Range Rover Sport 4.4 V8 HSE Java Black

Hi dubai,
I have a 4.4 petrol V8 HSE. I absolutely love the motor, but there's not many of them about as LR discontinued this engine in the UK market. (Everyone was buying diesels!!!). However it's a Jaguar based engine and in my humble opinion is superb. I never liked the TDV6 (or any RR diesel engines for that matter), but the TDV8 is the diesel engine that the Range Rover had been waiting for - it's superb. You don't have to worry too much about the price of petrol in Dubai, so I'd go for the S/C if I was you. It's an extra 10mph faster and 1 sec quicker 0-60mph than the 4.4. Oh, and it sounds better too.
Mine's black, which is obviously no good for dubai, so go for Chawton.
I have the Alpaca leather, which I really like. It's light but not white. However it does still show the marks. I keep mine pretty clean.
Anyway - that's my 2p worth. Hope it helps.
Smile
ANT Range Rover Evoque 5 door on order.
2006Java/Alpaca/4.4HSE/PTIS/Tracker/pp/Tasmods/Black side repeaters/Custom exhaust (gone but not forgotten!)
Land Rover Defender 110 CSW 200 TDi blue (Offroad prep'ed).
Citroen C4 Grand Picasso
Aston Martin DB9 Tungsten Silver
Another Citroen C4 Grand Picasso (Christinemobile)
1990 Mini Cooper SE - classic! (now sold)
New addition - 1972 Triumph Stag Pimento Red

Thanks for your input, much appreciated.
Do you have the electronic rear diff lock?
You are right about the petrol, the diesel just wouldn't sell here at all, maybe the V8 but don't think LR will bring it here as diesel is twice the price of petrol.

Cheers

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Dubai - if you are buying new you might ahve a problem finding a Chawton White as it was replaced by Alaska last year. If you intend to go into the sand/ off road then go for the e-diff (which I think is standard on the S/C anyway) 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW
