United Kingdom 2005 Range Rover Sport TDV6 HSE Cairns Blue
New Forum Tuning Dealer services.

Hello all,

About time I introduce myself properly….

Please accept my apologies and ignorance for not introducing myself sooner, but I have been awaiting the go ahead from Martin before offering my services – hopefully giving some people off this forum a very good deal!!

I have also been getting ready for the Driffield show this coming weekend 10th & 11th of May and it’s been bedlam at work.

I’m also working/combining forces with Ian ( from IRB Developments ) and a (currently secret) Turbo company on a new bolt on VNT (variable Nozzle Turbo) conversion for the Td5 – suitable for Discovery and Defender. Initial test and development work is looking very promising indeed, this is not a 5 minute bodge of fitting an unsuitable turbo to a Td5 – but instead, from the offset, this is custom designed matched exactly to the requirements of a Td5 – and is being thoroughly tested. This conversion should be available in just under 12 weeks… and is definitely worth waiting for.

I will be out and about at the show at Driffield this weekend on the Venture overland stand if any of you want to come and have a chat.

I’m at the Show supporting some of my dealers so I won’t have a stand of my own this year, but instead will be floating around:

Allisport
TD5Alive
Landy Spares
Disco Parts
and Venture overland (where ill be sleeping in my caravan)

Regarding my services of remapping and tuning etc.

All my remaps are my own, I write the files myself using varying of methods of tuning and tools/software etc etc.

I don’t buy files in from other companies and pass the work off as my own!!! All the tuning work is done in house. As per the new 07 Puma defender we released last year.

If you want one of my remaps, and don’t want to travel to York, contact me with your postcode and I will advise on the closest dealer.
ANY bookings for tuning work with any of these dealers MUST be made to my office, I will then book you in with the relevant tuner.
I do this so I can control the logistics, and don’t get dealers asking for remap files all at the same time.

Ultimately I can tailor the tuning to your car more accurately if I have the car at my own workshop here in York…. However, even through a dealer I can tailor the tuning, but it will be a longer a process than having the vehicle in my workshop.

I have all the relevant tools needed to be a tuner from M.O.T spec gas analyzers for checking emissions, oscilloscopes for measuring sensors to the Land Rover/Jaguar main dealer IDS diagnostic tool.

All of my tunes have been developed on a dyno as well as under real life driving conditions and nearly all of them when the cars in question were first available on the market.
Just like last year when I made the first remap for the new ‘07 Puma (using Allisports’ Defender)

Here is a picture of a RRS TDV6 on the dyno a few months ago, this is a customer of Landy-Spares (one of my dealers)
And a TD5 , customer of IRB developements. 186bhp and 420Nm

The RRS made 48Bhp and 88Nm of torque over standard on the dyno. More is possible…. But in all honesty I’m a strong believer tuning safely – I want the tuned car to be still running as good as new in 5 years time and not one that will need a new turbo and engine.

All cars will slightly vary in power output depending on many factors EG Fuel quality, temperatures, ambient pressure, mileage of the car, build quality etc etc. So all of my power quotes are approximations only (but based on actual test results) - I don’t believe you need to Dyno every car that is tuned just to prove its gain.
After all and please forgive my choice of words - you can't drive a piece of paper stating XXXbhp or a web site power quote

Ultimately the car needs to drive well on the road with the gain in power where you need it, and be reliable!!
This I personally believe is the key to a good remap along with good customer service and a workshop that can cater for your cars needs even if not related to tuning.

Regarding the changes made inside the ecu data, it varies from model to model depending on the tune needed.

From EGR mass target flow, speed limiter adjust/remove, fuel quantity, injection pulse width boost pressure etc etc .

The list goes on, here is an extract of my tuning software and the lengths I go to find EVERY Byte of the file inside the ecu and its meaning/use in your car

Please feel free to ring, email me etc etc or just post on the forum with any questions you may have.
I will try and answer forum posts as soon as I can, sometimes its hard for me to spend hours reading and posting on the forum due to work load but I will do all I can.

Also on a similar note if any of you have problems with your cars I’ll try and advise the best cause of action, I’m not just here to sell remaps I also do servicing and diagnostics.

Regards Pete
