The Spring 2008 issue of LR Owner Int. magazine has a buying guide for 2nd hand RRS - and it's not very good.

Their advice is.
1. Check tyres.
2. check paper work.
3. check brake pads.
4. check paintwork.
5. check wheels for kerbing.
6. check electrics.
7. check the car hasn't been offroad.

They fail to mention the serious stuff, steering knocking, allignment etc etc.

But their worst sin is they direct potential buyers to 2 web sites, one in America and one non RRS specific! THEY FAIL TO MENTION US!  2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

They need to be shot - I stopped subscribing to LROI about 7 years ago as I felt they were too biased to very old Land Rovers and hardly ever covered the modern ones, now they cover the D3 a huge amount but anybody would think that RRSport and FFRR were not Land Rover products from the coverage that they get.
I would say that they didn't try very hard to expand on the gossip and usual suspects for buying a used SUV. I have been told by several dealers that they are quite happy to take cars that have been offroad provided there isn't any major damage (which would be the same for any car being part exchanged).
Do they mention anything about so called First Editions that aren't or that oversized wheels can knacker the steering rack on early cars without the uprated rack............................ I doubt it! 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I only ever bought one copy of it.. when i noticed one of our customer's cars on the front!! Caught my eye in morrisons.. thought the rest of the mag was pretty crap.. never bought another copy..

I expect they're yet to find this site. They do mention Disco3.co.uk a lot. As for not covering modern Land Rovers, the had a full fat on the front cover a few months ago, and did make an effort in the latest mag to do a buying guide on the RRS. 2002 Discovery Adventurer LE
