You really need Josh to advise you. He changed from a chipped TDV6 to an unchipped TDV8. I'm sure he will come on later and advise you of his thoughts on the difference. Otherwise PM him.

As rrsjo has pointed out, yes I came from a JE chipped TDV6 to a standard TDV8. And I really thought that there wouldn't be much difference between the two vehicles.........BUT BOY WAS I WRONG Exclamation I even said so on here and yes I was wrong. Bow down Bow down Bow down

The TDV6 was a whole lot better chipped and really needed the boost from the tune.................................. But the TDV8 in standard form is just so much better. It picks up and goes like a rocket. Effortless overtaking. Out performs most cars and a few that think they're quick with ease Thumbs Up

There is no comparison between the two engines.....the TDV8 is the only one to have Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up It will walk all over a chipped TDV6.
I have no desire to chip mine because it has got power and torque by the bucket load Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Hope that answers your question.

Forgot to mention I had someone try the other day in a black 07 RRS with chrome mirror covers near Bicester, Oxon. Don't know if it was TDV6 or 8....but clearly he was fooled by my disguise into trying Rolling with laughter TDV6 - gone
TDV8 - gone

Thanks Guys! Thumbs Up

Your comments are very appreciated. I guess it sounds like the DR and Brembo's are a very desirable option too.. Do many of the v6's have these? I would be looking for a HSE..
Lastly, without wanting to sound like a tighta*se, what kind of economy could I expect from a mapped v6 compared to a v8? All these questions! but if you don't ask you don't get to find out,and I feel that you guys know as you run these motors day in day out.. The stealer near me couldn't tell if my Disco 2 had ACE,so I've no chance with anything more technical Rolling with laughter

Thanks again for taking the time out to answer my queries, though is beginning to sound as though I need to max out the plastic and go the v8 route.. Mr. Green

TDV6 tuned fuel ecconomy was better. 30 to 35 was acheived repeatedly. Untuned 27 ish.
TDV8 untuned around 25 is likely depending on the right foot. TDV6 - gone
TDV8 - gone

United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Fuji White

Got a TDV6 and used it for 2 months, had a turbochip remap, its now a completely different drive, getting 27mpg in town with 32mpg on the motorway, I have had the car 18 months now and its well worth having it done, I have used a TDV8 for a week but apart from the sound theres not much in it.
