Mc Donalds Parking Fine

In todays post I received a 50 pound parking fine for beiing in Mc Donalds Billingsgate East London fo 1hr 38min. I was between meetings so stopped to eat and have a couple of coffees whilst ploughing through a mornings email which they encourage by offering free wireless access.
If its not paid in 14 days it increases to 100 pounds.
It was done by number plate recognition camera.
I wont be paying it or ever ever using Mc Donalds again.

it is crazy - a very similar scenario is primed to happen at a new Tesco Express near me (sorry Jay - I wont mention Tesco in another thread again). They have loads of 30 min max parking time signs everywhere, however a lot of people are spending over that time shopping in the place itself (dont ask me how as its beyond my comprehension) - tickets have already been threatened

Words fail me! There was a programme on the other night about how the sytems in UK have changed, It all seems to be done by cameras now, so you probaly will have no idea you have been done untill the ticket comes through the post some days or even weeks later, the chances are then you will not even remember if you were there or not, there fore you probaly will decide not to contest it. have a look in the parking ticket section over on www.pepipoo.com (it's in the forums section) general advice seems to be that you have been sent an invoice and therefore you don't need to pay it - just ignore all post from them

Same thing happened to me at the weekend.
Parked up in Glasgow in a KFC carp park to go to the Rangers Celtic game... Anyway....

Was duly served a ticket by a private company. Looks v official and just like a real parking ticket.

They claim that if you don't pay, they will get your details from the DVLA and raise a Civil action.... eeek... Big Cry 2022 P440e AB

but according to what I have read over on www.pepipoo.com they are just trying to frighten you into paying them as most people will just pay it then.

in Richmond they have a smart car with a huge tool of a camera, two foot high stuck on the top - it just parks near you and takes a pic and you get it in the post - no slapping a fine on your windscreen......

Your best bet is probably to join pepipoo (some of the users appear to be members of the legal profession) and give them details of the ticket, I've never had cause to use them but a friend told me that they had helped her out.
