I'm afraid the ANPR cameras are all video cameras rather than static pictures, so don't rely on a flash, making any sort of numberplate coating useless.

DVLA won't let you put a plate on your car that is newer than your car, i.e. you can't put a 56 reg plate on an 06 or earlier car.
You can put older plates on no problem, so with S reg being from 1 ... |
