I have a new to me MY19 (late 2018 registered) HSE that I’d like to add ACP to, anyone have any advice on if this is possible with the OEM equipment?

Does it not plug in with a lightning cable?


If that works try a carlink for wireless operation

I can connect my phone but no ACP icon or anything

What version of the infotainment software is on your car?

The dealer told me that they wouldn’t update the software, their comment:

“ There is an Apple/ Android software update, however I have been told that we do not carry out the update out ourselves.
The reason being there is a small chance that when carrying out the update it can kill the module unit. There is a 50/50 chance of it being recoverable, If it’s not recoverable the cost of a new module is around £2k per unit.”

Can I do it OTA & is there a real risk of bricking the unit?

You have to be on a particular version to be able to SOTA, I cannot remember which one.

Turns out the main dealer was reluctant to update as they said there’s a known issue with the rear screens when updating.

They said that the risk would be entirely mine but no comeback if it bricks the unit…
