L494 towing indicator on when indicating left??

I’ve a strange one on my new to me L494.

It has the factory Towbar electrics fitted but when nothing is connected to the vehicle I get the towing symbol on the dash when turning left only.

When the caravan is connected the symbol comes on for right and left as expected.

Any ideas?

Can it be programmed with the IID tool? 2004 D3 HSE TDV6
