My RRS is trying to kill me!

Just returned from holiday towing the metal box on wheels but while away the RRS has been acting up Big Cry

On three occasions lit up like a christmas tree - emergency brake failure, cruise failure, gearbox failure and stability control failure so pulled over, stopped and suspension dropped but when restarted lights went off Confused

Also car lost all power when pulling on roundabouts a few time with cars hurtling towards me from side Evil or Very Mad

Anybody had these problems or any suggestions Embarassed Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Ok ive had this problem....
I had all the fault lights up on mine.

It appears that its a common fault and LR are aware of it. hence mine has been in the garage last week for 9 days.
Get them to check the steering angle sensor!

Hope this helps !

Had the same happen to me towing my TA caravan, not the best experience, dealer couldnt find what was wrong but it could have been because it was revving at about 4000rpm as i had my foot buried going up a steep hill and the electronics could have sensed an overheat fault and shut down.

Everything was fine when towing but faults happened without the caravan on while we were away Embarassed

Rang dealer this morning but receptionist said they were busy and still waiting for a call back - typical customer service for LR now - spent years praising them but getting Censored now Evil or Very Mad

Appears that since LR fortunes improved service has suffered - they sell well now so no need to worry about existing customers when you have a queue of new ones Rolling Eyes

I have 14 months left on warranty and will have to get rid before it ends - this is the most expensive and unreliable LR I have ever had and the worst customer experience too Big Cry Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Problem appears to have been resolved with yet another software update Rolling Eyes

Why does it take 2 hours to update software Shocked

Christmas tree lights returned yesterday and diced with death twice at junctions with complete loss of power then surge just as traffic about to hit me Evil or Very Mad

1. "Air suspension lowered for safety"
2. "Gearbox fault"
3. "Stability control not available drive with care"
4. "Emergency brake assist not available"
5. "Park brake fault"

Rang LR Assistance but told they could not get to me until today - good job I was not far from home Shocked

Only done 22000 miles, 3 year old in November so bye bye warranty, less reliable than the 5 year old FL1 I just sold and the £25000 FL2 it replaced - buy another for £58000 - you must be joking Rolling with laughter

Right now the new mini I just bought for 1/3rd of the price is looking pretty good - my first non JLR since 2000 apart from an MG in 03 Embarassed Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

News just in......

Computer says - "faulty brake pedal switch" Shocked

Apparently this little switch has cause all these errors and power loss Rolling Eyes

Considering this is the second excuse for this problem I will see how it goes and expect a month after the warranty runs out it needs a new CPU for the price of a house Evil or Very Mad Wanted a Series 2 LR since childhood but previously owned MY16 Disco Sport HSE TD4 Auto, MY13 RR Sport Black Edition TDV6 Auto, MY10 RR Sport HSE TDV6 Auto, 2007 Freelander 1 Freestyle TD4 Soft Top, 2009 Freelander 2 GS TD4 Auto, 2007 Freelander 2 GS TD4, 2004 Disco 2 Metropolis Auto, 2002 Disco 2 GS, 2000 Freelander 1 SE TD4 SW

Do they dip these electrical systems in a bucket of water before they fit them to the cars, seems electrical 'gremlins' are quite common events?
Such a shame as I think mines fantastic, but I can understand how people are 'falling out of love' with them when you get erroneous errors like this Sad

Hope you get it sorted Muddy Thumbs Up ON THE WAY: BMW F21 M140i

2007 Range Rover Sport TDV8 HSE Luxury Zermatt Silver

This problem happend to me too.

Drove to the shop, drove back and at the top of my street. Christmas light were on.. All sorts of faults...

Rolled her into the drive. She lost power. Turned her off, then Tryed to start her again. And she won't start?? Like if the battery was dead.

I jump started the car, left it charging for a bit an she started fine:s

The battery died before when we went on holiday..

But it looked like it died while driving?:s

This happend about 3-4 days ago. About 2 days later, the battery light is away on my car. Sayin low power mode, so I fear it will happen again out the blue?

I phoned LR for a new battery they said its about £300

I just want to do some homework before buying a new battery and it turned it out it's not.

What could it be?

Brake switch some of yous say may need reprogrammed?
Battery it self?
Altonator ?
Anything eles?

Also when I drive the car, turn the engine off... There a buzzing noise from the engine bay like if HIDs are still on for like 20secs? (lights are off)

Any help please.

Thanks
