Tow bar electrics

I'm about to fit the above but need a couple of questions answered.

If I put the twin electrics on from the dealer can I hide the plug ins under the vehicle.

How easy is it to fit the electrics.

Thumbs Up

Not done it myself but IIRC it's about an hour job with the only tricky part being getting the loom around the back weights. 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten

I fitted my kit a couple of weekends ago. I found the hardest thing was stripping back all the trim in the boot.

Simple enough job though and glad I didn't pay for an hours labour to do it!

+1

Not that difficult to install, but take it easy on the interior panels, take your time taking them on and off. The hardest bit I found was routing the electrics underneath the vehicle.

Any savvy DIY'er can do it in 1 to 1 1/2 hours.

I got my kit online for about £70.

Cheers guys, is it possible to tuck the big connectors out of sight but still accessible to plug trailer electrics in, will only be used now and again so not really bothered about kneeling down to plug it in.

The electrics kit come in two forms, single and double connections, I have the single which fits to one side of the tow bar. There is space for the other connector at the other side.

If you take off the towwbar cover by undoing the 2 plastic screws underneath the bumper you'll see.

So do twin electrics need both rear panels and lights taken out?

Yes,

You need to strip the back end (side panels, floor, light clusters etc) for single or twin. It's not as difficult as it looks though! The electric pack will come with full instructions, if you search on the landrover site you should be able to find them in pdf format.
