I have been following a long thread about folks who have mis-fuelled a TDv6 with petrol and it appears that one of the D3 guys has found a practical device that fits over the filler tube. Cost is £67 including VAT and Postage which is a lot less than repairing the after effects of a misfuel episode. Unfortunately the minimum order for a "group" order would appear to be 15,000 units.................................
......................... Now Charles Hurst's are part of the Lookers Group......... so I wonder if a group buy could be done through James's accesories guys?????? 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it 2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced 2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW |

Or buy a FFRR TDv8 which has a mis-fuelling flap fitted in the filler line! Mis-fuelling must be a big earner for LR dealers that the clever flap isn't even offered as an option on other cars in the range, as if FFRR owners cannot afford to pay the price of a misfuel more than the owners of Defenders or Freelanders!. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

They did - you can't fit a diesel nozzle into an unleaded petrol filler....its just that the other way around does fit. All the new Ford models come with this, they have done away with the screw in cap, instead once the filler flap is open there is a non-return valve or cover that you push the nozzel through, if the nozzel is not the same diameter as the valve you can't put fuel in. it's a clever little thing. Speed Limits! not where I live!
