Young drivers insurance.

Hi guys,

I'm just about to order a Sport SE. I've had the following quotes for my insurance. Just wondered if anyone can recommend any other companies that will insure my age group.

I'm 19 with 2 years no claims and no accidents - touch wood.

Tesco £2088 (12 months)
Admiral £2206 (10 months)

I think those quotes are fairly good - just want to compare really. I've had quotes on the the Supercharged at about £1000 more from both companies.

Thanks

Jase

United Kingdom 2006 Range Rover Sport TDV6 SE Arctic Frost

Try Land Rover Insurance.

There are a few of us on here that have gone for this option. Their quotes are competitive and they include off road cover in their policies which is always a bonus.

P.S. Welcome to the board. Thumbs Up Arctic Frost TDV6 SE. Aspen Leather, Cherry Wood, Privacy Glass, PTI, Tow Pack, Mudflaps, Tasmods, a new Fuelflap, a RRSport.co.uk umbrella in the boot & a RRSport.co.uk sticker on the rear glass.

Hi Jase, welcome to the forum..

Landrover won't cover you on a diesel RRS under 25.. they will laugh at you if you ask for SC.

I have had this problem in the past and have bunny hopped from insurance company to insurance company getting cheapest quotes year on year. Im now 24 with 7 years NCB, so insurance is not so bad now..

The insurance companies i always get quotes off online:

Direct Line
Egg
Privilege
Tesco
Norwich Union
Eagle Star (odd one, but sometimes they come up trumps).

Good luck with it.. in the past my cars have been dictated by what i could get insured on for a sensible sum. That to me has always been below £1500, i wouldn't pay a penny over this.. but everyones got their own limits i suppose. I was paying £700 a year approx for my RRS TDV6.. is now doubling for the RS4, but has gone down for the interim period im in the saab for.. so swings and roundabouts i suppose..

Try www.confused.com
You put in your details once, and it then gets prices from all of these companies and more. Matt

2013 Range Rover Sport SDV6 HSE Stornoway Grey

Living in London won't be helping either, but there is little that you can do about that unless you want to move!

I have 2 Land Rovers, both insured with LR Insurance - just because when you try to get offroad cover, none of the mainstream insurers will give you offroad cover or guarantee to have the repairs done using genuine LR parts or an LR approved repairer. LR also give very good cover for roofracks and trailers and their contents and unlimited continental driving. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it
2018 Melting Silver Mini Countryman PHEV - soon to be replaced
2015MY Corris Grey SDv6 HSE Dynamic, the best car I have ever owned, totally reliable only a cou0le of rattles in 3 years, now no longer in my care
Also in my garage is a 1996 TDi300 Defender 90 County HT made into a fake CSW

I'm with Liverpool Vic - but I think they have a "no under 25s" policy on cars over a particular value. But then I'm a comparative crumbly at 34 Wink

Good luck with it and welcome to the site! Thumbs Up

yep.. i was paying around this much too! £700 with all the trim added on, protected NCB.. guaranteed hire car, blah de blah etc etc..
I wouldn't pay over £1500 for any car..
Im 25 this nov, so am hoping my renewal in Jan will be a lot lower, but saying that won't be in the RS4 then, so on a tdv8 it should be a lot less..

i don't really care too much about it going down, as i think i get quite a good deal already with my chunk of NCB's.. but what i do want is that majic line on my policy, whereby with my comp policy, i can drive other cars with legal 3rd party insurance automatically.. means i can take off my name off my dads A8 policy, and the Merc policy saving about £500 a year in addition to my normal insurance.

The amount of times, my mates have said to me, im fully comp, so that means im 3rd party automatically on other cars.. (i thought the same too) until i actually read my policy properly, and asked the insurance company about it, basically under 25's don't get this privilege.. over 25's do!
