1st year i managed to get a view of the start of the race, in the UK its counterpart would be the fastnet.

Agree tim, i will be following it on http://rolexsydneyhobart.com/yacht_tracker.asp it may get some news coverage over here and some regular updates..

Cheers for the link Z I'll be keeping an eye on it - I see some of the lead boats are doing in excess of 20knots so it must be a bit of a big dipper ride with all that broadreaching and running and surfing. 2020 Pangea Green 1st Edition D240 New Defender 110 is here and loving it

I raced on the Skandia Wild Thing, first time out after it sunk on the Sidney Hobart race the year before. It then did the Fastnet here and the top of its mast snapped, but it still did well. Watched the start once, must do it again. My brother has an apartment on Balmoral Beach which is available for use! 2005 Zambezi TDV6 - Gone but not forgotten
