I drive on a similar selection of roads. I got 22mpg for the first 2000 miles and now (at 6000 miles) it's doing nearly 25mpg.

Good to hear that the consumption gets better, I have noticed slightly that it is slowly getting better but it is not suprising as my car has only 3000km. Average at the moment is 22 MPG. RRS TDV8 HSE 2007- JAVA Black/Black interior,

What it says in the brochure is about correct. The same engine with 6 cylinders will always use less than one with 8 - it's simple maths - provided they are driven in a similar way. My car is a TDV6 and I am consistently getting between 29 and 31 mpg.
