Extra Side Lighting when Turning?

Recently noticed that whenever I am out at night and I make a left or right turn (must have indicator on) then an additional headlight lamp illuminates as the turn is initiated and for a few seconds after levelling the wheel again. This lamp lights the front side of the vehicle on the inside of the turn.

I have a MY07 HSE and it does not have adaptive front lights (at least I didn't pay for them), as far as I am aware adaptives swing left, right, up and down when first switched on (they do on my 911 anyway) to self check, something that mine isn't doing.

Anyone else noticed this as I can't find anything in the LR literature about it. Don't know if it's a good thing or not as now everytime I turn into a side road etc I am watching for it!

These are called "Static Bending Lamps" and this is explained in your Owner's Manual. Wink Malaysia Boleh!

Mine's the same spec and this also happens - thre's an earlier thread if you search for "static bending" Shocked

To be fair, though, it's only mentioned under the adaptive headlamps sectionof my manual, so leads you to believe that you don't get this if you don't have adaptives... http://www.black-code.co.uk

Gents,

I have to admit I skipped over the part in the manual about Adaptives and also the static bending as I assumed it was a feature of the adaptives. Have re-read the Lighting section and realise this is standard on the Bi-Xenons.

Many thanks

Illegal so not fitted in the US apparently, some pedestrian sued claiming they were dazzled by these extra lights... Cheers
