Sound proofing foam

So after washing the car p400e I noticed the foam sound proofing at end of bonnet either side and under wiper scuttle panel is saturated and holds the water, even after a few days it’s still completely soaked. This to me seems a stupid design using this material as it will inevatibly cause corrosion to start. Anyone else got issue here. Noticed it also in rear quarters when I fitted a tow bar. Bloody stupid design in my eyes

Wait until it freezes and you open the bonnet like I did and they rip apart and become stuck to the underside of the bonnet. They are more than £40 each new to replace. I stuck mine back together with black silicone. I does seem like a stupid idea how they absorb water. Apparently they are for sound proofing in the cabin.

same type of foam in the front and rear sill ends ,soaking wet when i removed wheel arch protectors.
dried them out, soaked them in lanoguard ,put them in a small plastic bag with the opening at the bottom, put some lanoguard in the sill ends and re fitted them
hopefully should sort it Thumbs Up
wonder if that would work with the bonnet ones
