Suspension levelling when parked

Eh up all,

Can I sense check something please🤔

When parked up my car is parked nose down and on a slight slope dipping to right side - following so far 🤞

So I got home tonight and it looked like the car was on a slant , left side down both front and rear😳

I’m dropping the rear bumper this week so drove it into garage , less than 6m, turned engine of and measured it.

Front passenger 780mm from floor, rear passenger 780mm from floor , drivers side both 800mm - 😫

(Now understand I should have measured from middle of wheel centre cap but will do that tomorrow
)

Started car , left it running and hey presto back to 800mm measurements all round. Stopped car - still at 800mm all round- will keep checking tomorrow morning.

No lights on dash and not noticed before, checked on forum for info and scared myself silly

However- picked up on something on here Thumbs Up and want to check- does the car wake up occasionally when parked and effectively if on a slant release pressure to self level- that would make sense as it’s trying to compensate for the lean on my driveway?.. Here’s hoping 🤞

As always all help appreciated

Cheers all

It wakes up every hour if I remember correctly. Also, compare your situation with this: https://www.rrsport.co.uk/forum/topic53986.html Regards etc.,

Eh up

Cracking Thumbs Up

If the forum member who posted this is correct then my understanding could be correct

i]t's just levelling itself up. Perfectly normal.

My driveway is sloped and when I park with the nose of the car facing downwards, it's always drops at the rear after a few seconds.[/i][u]

I’m chuffed if it’s right- will re measure tomorrow

Mine levelled up nicely but left to right not front to back so assuming it’s just trying to level on my drive but same principle applied ( I hope Confused )

Thanks for taking the time to find this TheWojtek 👍

I do re-call reading this somewhere but can't remember where, I would think the car is doing what it is supposed to, if you have no codes, lights or beeps I would not worry about it. Park it on level ground and do a proper ride height check, then a suspension re-calibration if needed and go from there if necessary, but as said I would guess it's just doing what it's supposed to.

"Periodic Wake-Up Mode.
When the vehicle is parked, the air suspension control module 'wakes up' two hours after the ignition was last switched off and once every twenty four hours thereafter. The vehicle height is checked and if the vehicle is not level within a pre-set tolerance, small downwards height adjustments may be made automatically."
