Is this a LRJ TSB that refers to your problem? Don't know if you would have any luck bearing in mind the age of the car;

I had this problem with my Facelift 2009 Sport, three years ago.After a bit of research. I was told that Landrover were aware of this problem( it was the wiring on sender unit. It entailed dropping tank and changing wiring connections on sender unit. Main agents denied any knowledge of this. But after contact with customer services, they did the job without cost. itisme |

Had the same fault about 6 months ago (2011 RRS). Got the same link from Col and forwarded it to our local Indie. Tank was dropped & sender unit connectors changed. Worked correctly since. Think I was charged about £80. |

Fingers crossed but All working now, i removed the drivers wheel and dried out the wiring connectors i found behind the inner wheel arch using a heat gun, whether by pure chance or luck after this its been fine for the last 2 days, I did put the pressure washer right up into the archers when i gave it a clean on friday and it was the first time this happened directly after i left the jet wash. |
