I had one go and tried to change it situ. Alas it was a bumper off job. 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue. |

Hi Steve, I did think that would be the case as it's a bit tight there, thanks. It didn't help that it was packed full of mud too, so that might be part of the failure issue perhaps.

Make life easy for yourself and remove the bumper, it is quite a simple easy job and doesn't take long, then you will have all the room you need.

Hi Col, thanks, will do. Funnily enough, I just watched a YouTube video on how to do it. If the weather is not too bad at the weekend I'll give it a go.

If not going to do it before the weekend, spray the screws and clips with wd40 or similar for a couple of days first as they do rust up a bit. I always replace screws like that with stainless steel ones and copper slip makes it a little easier to undo next time if needed.

Well, I thought I'd have a quick go at getting the bumper skin off before starting work (working from home). I managed to get everything undone/removed bar the two screws (one each side) that secure the skin to the rear lower part of the inner arch, both are rusty, typical, as you said Col.

Well fixed the parking sensors, dropped the rear bumper skin off to find the brown wire on the left outer had snapped.
