Adaptive Dynamics Fault RRS 2012 V6

Have recently started to get an Adaptive Dynamics fault every time I start the car up. When I try to select one of the terrain modes, I get a fault stating that the terrain response system is not available/turned off (something like that). Car drives fine.

1. Has anyone else experienced this before? What is it likely to be?
2. Is this something I can live with in the meantime until I get it fixed?
3. How costly is the fix?

Initially I would have the codes read, to many variables to guess and could be as simple as low battery voltage.

Cheers
