smart key not detected

Hi All,
I am sad to say that I cant start my MY10RR Sport. A warning comes up on the screen saying "Smart key not detected". Anyone got an ideas???

This is the final straw for me in a long running battle were I spent a lot of money on car that just doesnt work. Bought it new two years ago and it has spent more time in the shop than on the road. The car will be sold as soon as I can get it moved. Its a shame because the 3.0l TDV6 is a weapon.
any help would be great. tks all

White with black leather. doesnt matter as its just a large blob in my garage that wont start.
I am wondering if I should list all the problems I have had and really get this forum going, or will I be kicked?

^^ Handy to know that , my FF done this last week and has been taken into the dealers to get it rectified , something about the keyless starter button , some have developed faults as in the same way some of the new Jag XJ's have developed a fault ...

Scotland 2010 Range Rover Sport 3.0 TDV6 SE Santorini Black

Had this a couple of times, but only at a friends house who lives on a steep hill, don't know if it is caused by some self levelling problem, maybe some sort of safety net?? Or whether it is a phone mast blocking the signal??
Cheers

I also have had this happen a couple of times,
L320 2012
under the steering wheel is a mesh/vent feeling thing,
not 100% sure what it is but I rubbed my key fob under there
after reading to do it somewhere and the key then worked fine,

I keep my keys in my pocket all the time and this has happened if I put
my phone too close to my leg..

The first minute of this covers this on a newer model
the rest is changing the battery..

This is the same but with a different key fob..

Not sure this will help everyone but its worth a try before moving
onto the next level or diagnostics.. ===========================================

Thanks, I am able to do all that, but I was thinking more of a fix for the smart key not found issue.
