hello all , I am in need of advice please. backstory is I have accepted a 2006 RRS as a challenge mainly because I have admired this car since the previous owner bought it new. It had the known chocolate crank issue and therefore a recon engine 3 years ago since then it has covered 10000 miles. The reason i have now got it is the engine failed again and the owner tried to fix it himself. and then gave up and bought a new RRS. The issue was the timing chain on the left bank had snapped causing the lh cam sprocket to snap and 3 rockers to break. the left hand head had been removed and replacement fitted. I found that the crank timing was 360 degrees out from the cam timing. I have reset this and now all correctly timed up, compression good on all cylinders but it will not fire up.
I have a few questions on my way to sorting this out that i hope some of you may be able to answer.

1 what are the 2 pipes at the rear of the engine behind the vac pump and where do they attach
2 i have a slight leak from the leak off pipes on what i assume is a pressure switch , will this effect fuel pressure
3 i have bled through the low pressure side but seem to have very low pressure on high pressure side any ideas of causes
4 will these engines start with the coolant side empty to test
5 how do i bleed the high pressure side as i think this must be a fuel issue
or can anyone suggest where else to look

1 transmission breather silver pipes
2 temperature sensor. Yeah it will start
3 are u sure the fuel belt is fitted on the back?
They aren’t easy to start. Long cranking won’t help.
Try a tiny bit of easy start. But ensure it doesn’t pool in the inlet as it will wreck the engine

4 You don’t need coolant
5 turning ignition on for 30 secs then off. Repeat 3 times bleeds low side

Ensure the cam sensor at the front side of passenger head is plugged in. Required for starting

thank you andy so the breather pipes don't connect to anything and everything else seems to check out so will try easy start tomorrow and see how it goes

Spray a bit in before the Y intake

Ok starts up on easy start but cuts out as soon as it’s gone very rattle but I expected that until oil circulates. Can this just be a fuel issue or more serious and yes fuel pump belt is ok

what about the tyre / schrader valve at the back of the engine.
do you have decent amount of fuel there ?

I guess you will just have to part loosen one of the metal pipes to the injectors and confirm you have decent fuel there.
Careful. Its very high pressure and dangerous.

Also, as I said, check the cam sensor is plugged into the left head.
Easy to forget and stops the injectors working

The supply to schrader valve seems ok but I don’t know these engines but flow at injectors seems about the same as schrader valve guess I need to strip and check fuel system

thank you for the help andy but asking for a bit more where exactly is the cam sensor located and any pictures of the position

The sensor monitors the cam wheel at front of engine
But is mounted in the side of the head, so the wiring and connector is difficult to see.

Feel down the gap and see if you can locate.
