A waste of money so far as posts hereabouts over the years are concerned. Just buy a decent quality (i.e. OEM or LR) filter and save your money. Thumbs Up 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

I read somewhere (here or RR forum) that they are cheaper in the longer term, as you can re-oil them so they don't need changing again.

Not looking to CHAV it up Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter

Was it wrong??

Not much saving if you over oil and screw up your MAF meters by covering them in oil, L/R suggest air filters every two years on the S/C, so unless doing high mileage or very dusty environment don't see any real saving. Only my own personal opinion

Cheers

Next Question has gotta be,

Where's the best place to get OEM ones from @ a competitive price?

Anyone have a part number?

Funnily enough I was just looking at ordering some, the L/R one's I bought previous were LR011593 but there does appear to be another number LR161843 you could use these to cross reference to other makes. I was thinking of trying the Mahle ones half the price of Genuine L/R one's used their pollen filters no problem £20.00 against £50.00 for genuine L/R

Also ask any turbo/compressor rebuilder and they’ll be able to tell you if the car had a performance filter, just by looking at the compressor blades. 2006 2.7 TDV6 HSE in Cairns Blue.
