Defender is going to be made in Slovakia I believe alongside the Disco 5, the RRS is made in the UK alongside the FFRR. So they have factory capacity to build both at the same time. I guess the issue might be supply of sufficient numbers of any common parts (of which there are likely to be a few). 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

For sure they won’t update the L494 in an optical signifikant Facelift until the cycle ends.

From the info I have the RRS will be updated before September and get get the new Pivi pro system from the Defender and the under bonnet camera system. Headlamps and tail lamps will be updated too as well as new colours, wheels and interior options. Watch this space

I suspect they are probably looking to see how much the Defender will canabalise sales away from other JLR products.

Bang on...the defender really ages the L494 RRS with the new tech etc so they are forced to do this otherwise they will lose sales. |

To think that the Defender will take sales from RRS is a bit silly, frankly. RRS is the best selling proper 4x4 that LR make (it might even have ended last year as their best seller). I can see Defender taking sales from the Discovery, however, as that has not sold nearly so well as LR would have hoped. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

We are planning to swap our RRS for a Defender (maybe!). We want a 90 but want to see one first. I like the always on idea of Pivi Pro a great deal. My MY16 RRS has the older infotainment which is very dated now. MY16 3.0 SDV6 Autobiography in Aleutian silver, stealth pack and toys. |

It may sound silly to you sir however I have 4 friends who are as they are bored of their sports. In fact my dealer has told me that a few people going for the defender are RRS drivers. |
