PS Late edit - I assumed you had a Hitachi but looking at your car I guess it has an AMK (you should give us all the information when you post) so the below information may not apply which is for an Hitachi.

Thanks for the feedback/confirmation. I did start it this way, but got doubts so I stopped. Will give it another try today and will provide an update. Your are right that providing the type helps to eliminate assumptions. Just to be clear, I'm referring to the Hitachi System Air Suspension Compressor Pump |

Now you can put the top cover up first then put the compressor in but then the top bolt is very difficult to start the thread and then tighten up. 07MY RRS TDV6

Just finished it. I unbolted the 2 rubber mounts of the compressor and moved the compressor in such that I had more space available. It took no force and some wiggling to get the upper cover were it belongs. In fact easy if you know the sequence. Bolted both mounts back in the position and placed the undercover. Max 20 minutes included cleaning up the place.
