2.7 2005 rrs smoking

Hi All, noticed today that the car smokes terribly when sat idle. Now its always smoked on idle but nowhere near as bad as this. It also smokes whilst driving but nowhere near as bad. Been like this for a few month but we have hardly used it as its a backup car, Hard to say if its White or Blue or not but it has a smell to it that i can't describe. Im not losing water and there's no loss of power etc.

Ive had a look at the oil tonight and that seems fine, I have also noticed tonight that the turbo-intercooler pipe on the right hand side doesnt seem to be in correctly. You can see the O-ring and the plastic pipe is loose. Tried to pull it back together but it just pulls apart Big Cry. Is this the likely cause and should there be a clip holding it in?

Cheers

So the connection in the MAF sensor side where the preformed plastic ducting connects on the right hand side behind the fan so its probably the turbo air intake and not the intercooler pipe?.

Cheers

A leak in the inlet ducting will cause smoking because it results in overfuelling. Fix the pipe and you should solve the smoking. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
2008 TDV8 - it was a labour of love and is much missed

The pipe snaps together.

You need to support the lower Pipe with one hand and push the top pipe on.

Put a bit of wd40 round the seal first to help it
