Rolling with laughter

I can't believe people still think this is acceptable. Follow the guidance, it really isn't that difficult. Kev

We are fortunate to live in a rural area but perhaps unfortunate to have a Public Footpath running through our property. Over the last few days we have noticed an INCREASE in the number of people (NOT locals) who have been walking their dogs, mountain biking, and horse riding along the footpath (even though horses and bikes should not use a Public Footpath in any case!). It beggars belief!! These people seem totally oblivious to the very clear messages being put out by the Government.

The problem is that the government advise to go for one form of exercise a day locally but they don’t say how far local is. I live on a housing estate so to get away from people you have to drive a little further. 2019 5.0 SC SVA (Current)

We're able to walk from the house in to fields within about 50 yards, so we're fortunate. There are a few dog owners in the village and it's interesting to see the dog walks spread over the whole day at the moment rather than morning or evening. I guess people are trying to stay apart as best they can. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

We also live on an estate, but you can do a 25 min walk quite easily. The big problem is when half the world turns up at a local beauty spot as still happened this weekend. The more people think “what can I do” the longer it’s going to last Joined the X5 45e club

Yep. People have been driving from the local town 10 miles away to comets our village to walk dogs, jog and generally Censored around.

Folk in the village have now apparently started to challenge these visitors and have threatened to call the Police....

I haven't seen anyone driving to our village to walk, walk dogs etc., but there is a wood a couple of miles away that people drive to in normal times: I'm going to guess they still are. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders

I believe they've now clarified - you aren't allowed to drive for exercise at all; your walk/jog/run should start and finish at your house.

Still.. I wonder how many people will be saying "Just follow the rules, it's simple" in six months time when we're still living in this reality?

We won't be doing this in six months. It'll either have ended naturally or the Govt will say "tough, we're moving on". And I think that point will be in less than 3 months. 2012 SDV6 - it's missing a couple of cylinders
