First thing I did was ditch LR detachable and bought a witter fixed tow bar. Wouldn't trust a detachable as far as I could throw it read to many stories of them coming adrift don't want over 2 ton of tin tent going walkies. If it ain't broken down it soon will

Mine came with a detachable , found it fairly easy to attach & remove but in all honesty prefer a permanent fixture may have one fitted before towing in the summer.

Hi,
as you have listed in the L494 topic I am going with details about the towbar for this model Whistle

the removable type we had was made by Westfalia and used the same 3 ball bearing locking the same way as I think the older FFRR does
and
its like advice for all towbars, occasional use is what the removable is aimed for, if you tow a 3t trailer day in day out then go fixed
and
keep it maintained
unlike many removables you see on a D3 or RRS1 that have been on for years

Thumbs Up Porsche Cayenne 2022
gone Porsche Cayenne 2020
gone Corris Grey HSE Dynamic 2016
gone Ipanema HSE lux 2010
gone Rimini HSE 2005
!!

Have electric at the moment.
Depends what your towing, but from my experience I would prefer a fixed and height adjustable one as we have a boat trailer that could do with the hitch a bit higher.
Have electric deployable at the moment

Many Thanks. Think I'm sold now & going with the Fixed as I was always sceptable with the detached But the ascetics with the detached looks nicer but don't want to lose my Tin Tent. Thanks Ray

Had removable on my fullfats and Velar and never had any problems with them.

Got a electrically deployable on the present car.
